So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin are partying with girls. Gun Jun-pyo is throwing darts at the dart board. Yoon Ji-hoo is looking at music DVD’s.
So Yi-jeong : What happened to Gun Jun-pyo?
Song Woo-bin : I think it must have been too much of shock for him today. He has been like that all day. (He walks to Gun Jun-pyo and places his hand on shoulder) Hey… What are you doing?
Gun Jun-pyo: Don’t touch me! (He pushes Song Woo-bin’s hands away) Can’t you see that I am trying to think? I am thinking of some way to get to that weed. Song Woo-bin : Why are you thinking that hard? Do as you always do… (Gun Jun-pyo laughs and playfully pulls Song Woo-bin by putting hands a hand around his neck) Rascal… You are so smart… (He throws a dart to the board with a determined look on his face. He then walks toward the dart board and pulls the darts and the sticker of Jan-Di Drycleaners from the board).
Gun Jun-pyo : Jan-di Dry cleaners… You are so dead now! (He smiles and crushes the sticker)

Next day Jan-di opens her locker as the evil girls watch her. She finds an F4 red card inside. She pulls it out and stamps it under her feet. When she reaches her classroom, she finds her desk missing and books thrown off. Her classmates laugh at her.
Jan-Di : Who did this? If you have anything to say… come out! (Eggs are thrown at her from all directions spoiling her clothes. She remembers the trouble her father went through to iron the clothes and his words to consider that designer clothes like an inheritance. She shouts at the mob and asks them to throw more eggs. The students flung more eggs on Jan-di. Someone pours flour on top of her head.)

Student: Someone bring some oil. All we have to do is fry her. (Students are making fun at her and taking photos. She shouts at students to do it more and notices Oh Min-ji in the crowd. Oh-Minji runs away. Gu Jun-pyo, So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin are sitting in their classroom watching the live action.
So Yi-jeong :  Isn’t it all over now?
Gu Jun-pyo: What you mean by over? That girl should come and kneel down before me for it to be over. Who asked to touch a sleeping wolf?
Song Woo-bin: Wasn’t that suppose to be a lion?
So Yi-jeong: It looks like she won’t last for even a week.

Gun Jun-pyo : A week? I say 3 days… (So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin starts betting) Shut up you two! It’s time that the girl comes here … 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Open! (Nobody appears) Oh… Maybe that was a little quick… She may be embarrassed to come in front of me like that. Let me do it again… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Open! (Nobody appears. Gun Jun-pyo picks up his phone and calls someone) What are you Guys doing? Did you Guys do it properly? If so… why is she not here? Where did that girl go?

Jandi is talking to herself. She is at the same place where she was shouting at F4 the previous day.
Jan-di : Surrender?  I won’t do it. Since I am Jan-di, did you Guys think that you can do all that to me? You Guys touched the wrong person this time. Have you Guys eaten dumplings made of tears? A commoner like me cannot survive without patience and rivalry from the outside world. How many egg crates have you wasted on me? (She looks at her hands filled with flour) You Guys do not know the value of flour. Such a waste! (She starts licking her fingers and is distracted by the sound of someone waking up). Who is there? (Yoon Ji-hoo climbs the stairs and walks to her)
Yoon Ji-hoo :  You are a distraction every time I see you. You… Do you know how to make pancakes? (she looks at him confused then replies)
Jan-di :  Yes… with a batter made of flour, eggs, milk and sugar… and you fry them.

Yoon Ji-hoo : That is pretty simple (He moves towards her and looks at her. He then takes a hand kerchief and starts wiping the mess from her face and body surprising her. He then gives the handkerchief to her and starts to walk away).
Jan-di :  Your hand kerchief?
Yoon Ji-hoo :  I don’t need it…
Jan-di :  I will return it to you next time.
Yoon Ji-hoo : I am not coming here anymore. It is not as quiet as it was anymore… Thanks to a certain someone. (He goes from there and Jan-di looks at the handkerchief with a sad expression on her face. She looks down to the stairs from where Yoon Ji-hoo came from and sees a magazine with pancake recipe.

She walks to the empty classroom and finds a teddy bear and apology note from Oh Min-ji for being cowardly. Jan-Di smiles. She also sees another pair of dress to wear). Jan-di reaches a Dry cleaners place and bargains for getting it cleaned. The F4 are at a luxury hotel celebrating. The waitress kisses So Yi-jeong. Song Woo Bin is jealous seeing that and asks how he picks up woman fast. So Yi-jeong walks to a woman who is trying to decide which plate to pick up in the Cafeteria. He picks up a plate from another table and gives it to her.
So Yi-jeong: This one is better
Woman : You are right… It’s a beauty!
So Yi-jeong: Enough to make you cuisine even finer…
Woman: And just who told you that I was a Chef? (So Yi-jeong holds her hand and maintaining eye contact replies, “Your delicious looking hand”. He kisses her hand as the woman looks at him and smiles).

The F4 members are impressed by So Yi-jeong’s skills of attracting women and clap for him.
Gun Jun-pyo : Does a player know everything about a lady by looking into her hand? (So Yi-jeong says that he already knew about that lady and laughs. (Gun Jun-pyo gets up from the chair and walks to a more private place to talk to his aide at the Shinhwa school)
Gun Jun-pyo : Are you guys doing what I said? Don’t make any mistake… Do it right… (He cuts the call and joins his friends again). Let’s eat! (They raise the glass to toast)

At the house Jan-Di indulges in binge eating.  Her mother comes there and scolds her for not dieting for maintaining a good figure. She says even swimmers need a good figure. She tells Jan-di that it is the only way a girl like her can catch the eyes of a young good man. Her mother tries to grab the bowl while Jan-di takes it and runs from there.

Jan-di looks at the mirror wearing Swim suit. She tells herself that she will tolerate everything to be in a school like Shinhwa High to be in a swimming pool like that. She reaches the pool area and finds the pool filled with cool drink cans and bottles. She screams Gu Jun-pyo’s name in anger. So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin are drinking tea while Gun Jun-pyo watches the scene live. He is smiling. 
SoYi-jeong : Why are he smiling like that?
Gu Jun-pyo : Her top must be off by now
Song Woo-bin: Who?
So Yi-jeong : Are you talking of the cleaner by any chance? Still?
Song Woo-bin : Hold on!  How long it has been?
So Yi-jeong : It’s been over a week. Come on… Give me her number (He hands over the mobile phone to Song Woo-bin)
Song Woo-bin : She did last a long time… 
Yi-jeong : Isn’t she really the first one to stand up to F4? 
Gu Jun-pyo : What did she do? It is just that I am being easy on her. How come I am not seeing Ji Hoo anywhere? 
Yi-jeong : He must be stuck in some corner sleeping. (Ji Hoo is shown sleeping in the Gym. Jan-di is clearing the cans and bottles from the swimming pool. She is in the dressing room dressed up in uniform when some male students bounce on her. She screams and tries to escape. (Episode 1 ends)

Boys over Flowers Episode 1 Story (Part 1)

The Episode commences with a News Broadcast on TV about the rising share prices of Shinhwa Corporation and information on the prestigious Shinhwa Educational Institutions where only the elite are admitted.

Lee Min Ha opens his locker and sees a Red Card issued by the F4, a notorious gang of 4 super rich guys of the Shinhwa School. Students beat him up and Lee Min Ha somehow runs up from there with a bleeding face. It is at the same time a Dry cleaners daughter Geum Jan-Di (played by Ku Hye-sun) comes to the school with the delivery of laundered school uniform for the student who is tortured by the students. The students chase Lee Min Ha with hockey sticks in hand.  The Guy runs to the school terrace and tries to commit suicide.

Geum Jan-Di enters the school and is amazed by the ambiance and food served at the school. She hears students telling that Lee Min Ha is in the terrace. She sees students trying to take video from the ground and a guy standing on top of the terrace ready to jump from there. Guys are at the terrace too but nobody tries to stop him. Lee Min Ha looks at the Guys around him and asks, “Is this what you Guys want? Okay, I will grant your wish”. He says a silent prayer and bends to jump from the terrace. Geum Jan-Di comes running and asks the Guy to stop and tells that she has his delivery. Lee Min Ha tells her that he would be dead in no time and she can send the bill to his house.
Geum Jan-Di : You want to die? Why? You study in such a great school.
Lee Min Ha: No, This is not a school… This is hell!  (Geum Jan-Di tells him that real hell is outside the building and how difficult is it to get admissions to the school. Lee Min Ha asks her if she has not heard of F4. He tells her that the moment the gang issues a red card, the person who receives the card becomes a prey to the entire school. Geum Jan-Di tells him that he should not allow anyone to torture him and should break them. She tells him that if she would have been in his place torturing her or her friends , she would have break them. Lee jumps from the terrace and Jan-Di moves fast and saves him by grabbing on his collar.

Geum Jan-Di’s photos and act of bravery is publicized by the media. They nicknames her as ‘Common Hero’ and ‘Wonder girl’. The exposed bullying at the school attracts negative publicity for the Shinhwa Group Institutions and people start protesting against the school. Geum Jan-Di and her friend Chu Ga Eul are working at the local porridge shop. They see the news and story on Shinhwa school. Chu Ga Eul tells that the Flower Four Guys are handsome and she admires them. Geum Jan-Di sarcastically tells her that they should be called Fly four instead of flower four and they are like flies in the soup. Geum Jan-Di gets out of the shop. The media surrounds her and asks her questions. CEO of the school Kang Hee Soo (played by Lee Hye Young) is annoyed by the media coverage and negative publicity .

As a damage control measure, Secretary to the CEO reaches Geum Jan-Di’s house and offers her special scholarship to attend the Shinhwa School. Her Parents and Brother are happy for her. She refuses the Offer. Her mother tells the Secretary that she will make Geum Jan-Di agree and send her to school. Her mother (Na Gong Joo played Im Ye Jin) tries to persuade her telling that they can save on tuition fees and she can be in a school with a swimming pool. Jan-Di arrives reaches the school wearing school uniform and carrying a school bag escorted by her father the next day. The Leader of F4 and heir to Shinhwa Group Gu Jun-pyo (played by Lee Min-ho) reaches the school campus in a Helicopter. Students are seen climbing the stairs up to the school in a group talking and flaunting their costly possessions. Jan-Di enters the campus and looks around. She reaches a secluded area of the campus and sees a Guy playing violin. The Guy is Yoon Ji-hoo (Kim Hyun-joong ), a member of F4. The Guy stops playing when he senses Jan-Di’s presence. Jan-di asks him where the swimming pool is and Yoon Ji-hoo points the direction using violin stick. Jan-Di thanks him and leave from there with a smile on her face.

Inside the school, Jan-di climbs the stairs up to the school classrooms. Girls and Boys suddenly rushes down the stairs and other directions to have a glance of the Flower four Guys. The F4 Guys make an entrance with Gu Jun-pyo a bit ahead followed by So Yi-jeong (Kim Bum) with Yoon Ji-hoo and Song Woo-bin (Kim Joon) on either side. Jan-Di also tries to get a glance of the notorious F4 and recognizes Yoon Ji-hoo as the Guy whom she asked directions. Gu Jun-pyo stops in front of a Guy.
Guy:  Is there a problem?
Gu Jun-pyo : I give you 3 seconds. 3… 2… 1… (He pulls the Guy by collar and asks Song Woo-bin) Is there any juice left? (Song Woo-bin hands over the juice bottle and Gu Jun-pyo pours the juice on the Guys shirt. Gun Jun-pyo hands over the bottle to the Guy and the gang leaves from there. The students also dismiss from there)

Geum Jan-di :  What a crazy bastard… Are these people mute that they say nothing and submit to his bullying? A gang of 3 girls (Ginger. Sunny and Miranda) stops near her. They introduces themselves as the 3 Beauties of Shinhwa High and warns her that if she does not watch her mouth she would be in big trouble with the F4. The gang tells her that since it is her first day they will leave her for speaking against their F4 Princes. Geum Jan-di’s Brother is looking at the internet for details of F4 members as Jan-Di listens to him. All the Guys are from filthy rich families and have powerful backgrounds. Song Woo-bin family runs a large successful construction company. So Yi-jeong is a skilled potter and his family owns the country's biggest art museum. Yoon Ji-hoo is the grandson of a former president of Korea. Gu Jun-pyo, the Leader of F4, is one of the youngest Billionaires in the World and the heir of Shinhwa Group. As the background music (Almost Paradase) plays, the F4 Guys are getting ready. A widest collection of shirts, ties, jackets and shoes are shown. Geum Jan-di takes her frustration out by shouting on F4 leader and gang.

Geum Jan-di: F4…  You Guys are like flies. If you had a privileged birth, you should be grateful for it and not be a nuisance. I warn you… Don’t show your face to me. If a day comes when I have to call you my Senior, I swae I will dive off the rooftop. (She screams. She then notices someone getting up from the stairs down. Yoon Ji-hoo gets up and walks towards her. He tells her that she is a nuisance too and that she disturbed his sleep).
Geum Jan-di :  I am sorry. I did not realize I had an audience.
Yoon Ji-hoo :  Is that really true that you are going to take a dive down the rooftop?
Geum Jan-di : Ah… What I meant was… Did you hear everything I said? Yoon Ji-hoo : What? You calling us flies? (He walks away from there and Jan-di is embarrassed).

The students are eating at the canteen. The evil trio mocks at Jan-Di on her choice of food. She tells them that she cannot afford lavish lunches like them and continues eating her home packed lunch. The F4 Guys walk into the Canteen and the trio screams and runs towards their direction. Oh Min-ji ( Lee Si-young) approaches Jan-Di and asks if she can have some item on her lunch box.

Jan-Di is in the porridge shop working. Chu Ga-eul is happy that Jan-Di made a friend in the school fast. Jandi tells her that she is grateful that the F4 is not noticing her and she would hide herself in some corner till she becomes a graduate.
Chu Ga-eul : Who are you? Are you the same Jan-Di who fought for me when I was bullied? She was a strong girl.

Jan-Di is annoyed by her family’s excitement of her attending the Shinhwa School. Her mother tries to do some beauty treatment to bring glow on her face while her father irons her school uniform. She brushes her teeth looking at the mirror and tells that the strong Jan-Di is not dead yet and the F4 Guys are all dead starting the next day.

Jan-di enters the school. The girls scream ‘F4’ and runs towards the guys. The F4 Guys walk in and the girls ogle at them. A girl comes in front of the gang and holds a heart shaped cake in front of Gu Jun-pyo. Girl: I baked this myself to give it to you. Please accept my heart. (Gun Jun-pyo accepts it and looks at it. The girl is happy. The next moment he shoves the cake on the girls face. The evil trio is happy seeing it. He takes a handkerchief from one of the trio and wipes his hand. He throws the kerchief down and the girls fight for it. The F4 walks from there and is confronted by Jan-di).
Gun Jun-pyo: What are you? You have anything to say?
Jan-Di : Yes, I have a lot to say. (She points a finger at him). You don’t have the slightest manners humans should have. I don’t expect modesty from someone as rich as you. If you didn't want to eat it … you could have rejected it nicely. Or better… accept it considering the sincerity of the person who made it. (She shouts abuses at Gun Jun-pyo).
Gun Jun-pyo :  What are you? You have something to say ? (Yoon Ji-hoo has a smile on his face while the others are indifferent).
Jan-di : No… (Gun Jun-pyo and the gang walks from there. Jan-Di is angry and looks down. Yoon Ji-hoo is amused and smiles as he passes by her).

Jan-di is swimming at the school swimming pool while Lucky in my life background score plays. Oh Min-ji comes there and helps Jan-di get out of the pool. She tells Jan-di that she will faint if she swims like that. Jan-di tells Oh Min-ji that she was punishing herself for being cowardly. Oh Min-ji ; Are you feeling better now?
Jan-di : Yeah…  (Jan-di tells that the reasons why she attends the school are swimming pool and Oh Min-ji. The girls laugh and eat ice cream. Oh Min-ji slips on and falls on the feet of Gu Jun-pyo with her icecream cone falling on his shoes. Oh Min-ji apologizes and offers to replace the exact pair of shoes with new ones. Gu Jun-pyo asks if she has more money than him. He tells her that even if she has money she cannot replace the shoes as they are exclusive. Oh Min-ji apologizes again and tells that she would do whatever she can to correct her mistake).

Gu Jun-pyo : Anything? Lick it clean then… (The other Guys are amused while Jan-Di is shocked) Oh Min-ji : Excuse me! Gu Jun-pyo : I said… lick the ice cream off from the shoes… Did you not tell that you can do anything? (Jan-Di comes in front of Gu Jun-pyo)
Jan-di :  Won’t you stop your bad ways? Did she fall because she wanted? That was a mistake and she apologized. Isn’t that enough?
Gu Jun-pyo : What is this? Hey second year student…  I don’t think it is been long since you came here… American ways don’t work here (Song Woo-Bin whispers something to Gu Jun-pyo) Is that so? So you are the wonder girl they are talking about? I expected better… you are a disappointment.
Jan-di: I am releaved that you find me a disappointment.
Gun Jun pyo :  Don’t you know that you should mind your business and not interfere into other peoples affairs?
Jan-di : She is not a stranger… She is a friend. I assume that as a wealthy person, friends and friendship does not carry any value in your dictionary. (Yoon Ji-hoo has a smile on his face)
Gun Jun-pyo: Friendship? Let’s see how your friendship is…(pointing to the direction of his shoe) Lick it! Jan-Di: What?
Gun Jun-pyo: If you lick it clean… I will forget what happened. Now it’s your wish… (Jan-Di looks at Oh Min-ji and then bends down. She then shoves off the ice cream to Gun Jun-pyo’s face and he falls to the ground. (Oh Min-ji and the F4 guys are shocked. Gun Jun-pyo touches the ice cream on his lips) What are you? (Jan-Di takes 2 steps towards him)

Jan-Di: You have a lot of money? Have you earned all that money? You think minding my own business should be my concept… But I believe in not leaving those who leech off parents back. Understood? (Gun Jun-pyo is shocked hearing such words for the first time. Jan-Di takes some money from her pocket and throws at him one by one. Yoon Ji-hoo has an amused expression on his face telling that he is really liking this girl). I calculated the Dry cleaning charges. If that stain does not go… bring to us. (She turns to walk away and then takes a sticker and sticks it on Jun-pyo’s forehead. Jan-di walks from there. Yoon Ji-hoo smiles and Gun Jun-pyo tears the sticker from his forehead. So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin looks amused too at what happened).

Geum Jan-Di (played by Koo Hye-seon) hails from a poor family running a Dry Cleaning business. She reaches the prestigious Shinhwa High School attended by the scions of the wealthiest families in South Korea to deliver a student's dry cleaning. She there saves the life of Lee Min Ha ,a heavily bullied student by a gang of four known as F4 (Flower Four Boys). The media exposes the news of the bullying within the school and Jan-di’s heroic deed, leading the public to go against the Shinhwa Group. To turn the negative publicity into positive, President Kang Hee Soo sends her PA Jung Sang Rok to Jan-Di’s house with the offer of swimming scholarship to study in the school. Jan-di declines the scholarship, but her family forces her to attend the school to save tuition money.
On her first day at Shinwa High, Geum Jan-Di comes face to face with the F4 members (F4 leader Gu Jun-pyo, Yoon Ji-hoo, So Yi-jeong and Song Woo-bin). She is surprised by the adoration of the students for these richest and most powerful kids of the School who terrorize weaker students those they do not like for fun. Jan-di sees F4 leader Jun-Pyo pouring tomato juice on a male student. Instead of being impressed by the F4 members who reign the entire school like the other students of the school, Jan-di dislikes them instantly and expresses her anger by talking to herself. Jan-di earns the hatred of the trio girls Ginger (Choi Jin Hee), Sunny (Park Sun Ja) and Miranda (Lee Mi Sook) who hear her talking against their idols.
After reaching home from School, Jan-di watches as her Brother Geum Kang San makes a background check on the F4 members on the internet. He tells her that Song Woo Bin a consortium magnate successor with suspected underworld connections. Geum Kang San tells his sister that F4 member So Yi Jung is an acclaimed master ceramic potter and one of the few recipients to be Ambassador of Fine Arts from the UNESCO. He further adds that The Woo Song Museum belong to So Yi Jung’s family. Geum Kang San reveals that Yoon Ji Hoo (whom Jan-di asked for directions) is the grandson of President Yoon Suk Rong and that his parents died in a Car accident when Yoon Ji Hoo was 5 years old. Geum Kang San then makes a search for Goo Joon Pyo and shows Jun-Pyo featured on the Cover page of Asia Borbes Magazine as World’s Youngest Billionaire. He tells her that he is the F4 Leader and the heir apparent of the renowned Shinhwa Group. Jan-di is amazed and shocked as to how powerful the F4 .
The next day Jan-di goes to the top floor of the school building and showers abuses at the F4 and declares that the day she needs to address them as Senior she will jump from the roof top. She is distracted by the sound of someones yawning and Ji Hoo comes in front of her. Jan-di apologizes telling that she did not know that anyone was near by. Ji-Hoo asks her if it is true that she will jump from the roof top. He further embarrasses her telling that he heard every word she spoke including calling the F4 flies and goes from there. The trio girls mock at Jan-di seeing her lunch box. However, Oh Min Ji goes near her and asks if she can taste Jan-di’s food becoming her first friend at Shinhwa High. Jan-di tells about F4 and Oh-Minji to Chu Ga Eul who is her friend since kindergarten and works with her at a Porridge shop. She tells her that she plans to stay invisible to the F4 as she does not want any trouble till she graduates from the school. Chu Ga Eul tells her that doing like that would be out of character for the fighter and justice girl Jan-di she knows. Jan-di tells her that she is left with no choice as she can get expelled from school if she created nuisance and then beaten to death by her mother.
The next day, Jan-di witnesses Jun-Pyo shoving a cake on his female fan’s face. She confronts him telling that he could have just accepted it keeping in consideration the feelings of the person who made it. However, Jun-Pyo does not take any notice of Jan-di and ignores her. Ji-Hoo is amused and passes her smiling. Jan-di takes her frustration out by vigorously swimming at the school swimming pool. After that, she enjoys girl time with friend Oh Min-ji eating ice cream. Oh Min-ji accidentally spills on Jun-Pyo’s costly shoes and he asks her to lice the ice cream off his shoes. Jan-di confronts Jun-Pyo again. She defends her friend and try to reason with him. Jun-Pyo asks Jan-di to prove her friendship by licking the ice cream instead for her friend. He tells her that if she does so, he will treat the matter as if it never happened. Jan-di bends down and instead of licking the ice cream on Jun-Pyo’s shoes, shoves the ice cream cone she was holding in her hand to his face. He falls down and Jan-di throws money on him for Dry cleaning charges for his jacket. Further, she sticks her shop sticker on his forehead leaving Jun-Pyo shocked. However, his friends are astonished and amused by the retaliation of Jan-di against Goo Joon Pyo. They suppress their smiles while Yoon Ji Hoo looks with admiration at Geum Jan-Di.
Jun-Pyo feels humiliated by what happened and plots against Jan-di. He encourages students to bully her so that she comes and apologize to him. Geum Jan-Di gets the dreaded 'F4 red card' and becomes the target of Students bullying. Students harass her and throw flour and egg on her. The F4 ( Ji-Hoo is absent) sees the recording of the bullying. Jun-Pyo tells his friends that he will not end the harassment till Jan-di kneels and begs in front of him. His friends places bets on Jan-di that she will last only for 3 days or maximum one week. Instead of going to Jun-Pyo, she goes to the school building top floor and showers abuses at the F4. Yoon Ji-hoo wipes the mess from her face and clothes with his hand kerchief. Jan-di develops a crush for Yoo Ji-Hoo.
Jan-di heads to the Swimming Pool and finds it laced with trash. JunPyo looks at the recording and laughs. So Yi Jung realizes that it’s been over a week and Song Woo Bin has lost the bet as it’s more than a week since Jan-di is in school. He gives Song Wong Bin and asks him to enter the girls numbers he promised. He remarks that Jan-di is the only person who has stood against the F4. Jun Pyo tells them that she has survived only because he is going easy on her. Geum Jan Di clears the trash out of the swimming pool and heads to the dressing room.
